Faith Study This study on faith and repentance is
designed to be used in studying
the Bible with anyone interested in becoming a Christian.
A. Importance of Faith
Required to please God- Hebrews 11:6- (Romans
14:23, whatever not of
faith
is sin)
Leads to salvation- Acts 2:41- those who
accepted the message; Acts
2:44
the believers. These are the ones who are saved-- those who believe and
act upon the message of the gospel. Ref. John 1:14
B. Source of Faith
The Word - Romans 10:17; important to be
familiar with the Bible
The Unseen- Hebrews 11:1 heaven, God, Jesus--
all unseen. Do you really
believe in them?
The Resurrection of Jesus- Jn 20:31; blessed
are those who have not
seen
and have yet believed
C. Results of Faith
Obedience- Roman 1:5 - obedience that comes
from faith (as opposed to
habit,
self-interest, etc.). Changing life patterns to conform to Scriptural
teaching.
Action- James 2:14-26- faith is shown in
actions (what do my actions
say
about my faith?. Ref. Hebrews 11:1-2ff.
Prayer- Luke 18:1-8 prayer a sign of faith
God's work in your life- Matthew 9:27-31
