This list consists of positive attributes and negative prohibitions. Cited references are generally limited to the pastoral epistles (1, 2 Timothy and Titus) with some exceptions.

when away!

near.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;
then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good
fruit,
impartial and sincere.

teaching.
Titus 3:8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these
things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote
themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and
profitable
for everyone.
Titus 3:14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what
is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not
live
unproductive lives.
Romans 12:8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is
contributing
to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership,
let
him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it
cheerfully.
1 Thessalonians 5:12 Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who
work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.

2 Timothy 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with

prayers.
Acts 23:1 Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers,
I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day."
Acts 24:16 So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God
and man.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through
the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our
consciences
from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 13:18 Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience
and desire to live honorably in every way.
1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be
prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason
for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against
your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
